ACDC Feminized Seeds

Bred from a unique Cannatonic phenotype, ACDC is a balanced hybrid, most known for its extraordinary 20-1 (CBD-THC) ratio. Broadly thought of as being the foundation of the current medical hemp industry, ACDC (Alternative Cannabinoid Dietary Cannabis) was bred in 2011 as a potential dietary supplement to treat lupus.

With next-to-no intoxicating effects to the user (less than 1% THC), and all the therapeutic benefits associated with Cannabidiol (20-24% CBD), ACDC has left a lasting legacy, won several cannabis cups and truly deserves the high praise it receives.

With a THC content of just 0.5-0.8% there is no noticeable 'high', making it a perfect fit for anyone needing medical relief without any kind of impairment.

How does ACDC make you feel?

ACDC provides a calm, relaxed mood while remaining focused and alert. Although it can assist with insomnia, there is no chance of couch lock or excessive drowsiness.

Medical uses

Users have reported relief from pain (anti-inflammatory properties), stress and anxiety. Anecdotal evidence suggests there is a case for it being used to treat epilepsy, MS, and reduce chemotherapy side effects. 

During the vegetative stage 

While ACDC will flourish in any medium, it can be a tricky growth, and not always suited for beginners. It can be grown both indoors and outdoors, but if growing outdoors, ensure it has time to finish before any sharp temperature drops.

When in the vegetative stage be sure to feed less than the recommended amount of nutrients, as a high CBD cultivar, it will be susceptible to overfeeding. High-stress training (HST) during veg will keep the canopy level, and pruning lower levels will ensure energy is focused where it’s needed. ACDC is naturally bushy, so a little LST will assist in opening up the plant for the upcoming stretch. Humidity throughout the process should remain well below 60%. Aim for between 40-50%.

During the flowering stage

Once flipped to flower, steps should be taken to ensure a high level of airflow to prevent mold, as the dark green, fluffy, lightly resin-coated buds appear. ACDC shows resilience to disease, viruses, bacteria, pests, and damage but will require a somewhat stable temperature between 68-80°F (20-27°C) /p>

Full-strength nutrient feeding is recommended in flowers, but monitoring for nutrient burn is essential. Flowering time is 8-10 weeks and can yield around 450gr/m² in the right conditions. Inspect the trichomes from week 8 to decide when to harvest. Studies for high CBD phenotypes suggest harvesting later rather than sooner, at least some amber trichomes should be visible.

Is ACDC indica or sativa?

ACDC is a 50/50 hybrid and will grow quite bushy. It will max out at around 120 cm in height.

Is ACDC suitable for beginners?

AC DC is most often thought of as best suited to growers with a few crop runs already under their belt, but beginners can try their hand for sure! Humidity, temperature, air exchange and nutrient amounts need to be tightly controlled.

While being smooth enough on the throat, there is nothing too remarkable about ACDC's flavor profile. This strain is all about medicinal value.

What does ACDC taste and smell like?

An earthy and woody taste, with a touch of pine, and an even smaller amount of citrus makes this strain just fine to smoke. Fantastic flavors are great, but not always required when the medicinal benefits have the world screaming for more.
