STRAIN TRAITS
Details
Sour Grape Kush (SG Kush) is an indica dominant hybrid. A combination of the flavourful Sour Kush and Grapefruit strains, SG Kush packs an average THC content of 19-22%. CBD and CBN levels are generally lower than 1% though this strain is still suitable for pain relief as well as coping with depression and energy loss.
Effects
A Sour Grape Kush high starts with a rapid head rush that you’d normally expect from a sativa heavy strain. This energising burst is great for stripping away any stress and fatigue. The indica genetics begin to take hold after a short time leading to a deep body relaxing stone. Overuse can cause sleepiness and couch lock but the uplifting nature of SG Kush means this is never unpleasant.
Growing
Sour Grape Kush seeds are a great option even for beginners. Able to be grown inside and outside, the seeds mature into dense stocky plants between 100-180cm tall. The plants are hardy and can tolerate less than ideal conditions, though extra care will result in higher yields. The solid yields of 400-500g/m2 will be ready after a flowering time of 7-10 weeks, with outdoor harvests ready in early autumn.
Appearance & Aroma
Sour Grape Kush plants are quite stocky and dense, with long dark emerald green leaves. Feathery yellow white pistils wind around the buds during flowering before taking on the usual metallic orange tone when cured. Tangy pops of lemon and fuel surround SG Kush plants and buds, with the buds also giving off a mouth wateringly sweet grape aroma.
MSNL Editors Verdict
Combining the already delicious Sour Kush and Grapefruit varieties has delivered something truly extraordinary. Sour Grape Kush has one the most amazing flavours anyone could hope to try. Not only that the mix of genes has also boosted yields and reduced flowering times while holding onto the strong highs that are as wonderfully balanced as its flavour. Highly recommended.
Tasting Notes
Sour Grape Kush is all about a perfect balance of sweetness and sourness. The inhale delivers the candy like grape and berry flavour that is boosted by a subtle spicy hashiness. Exhaling brings out the sour lemon and grapefruit tastes that lift the experience to the next level. It’s a good thing then that this jaw dropping flavour will remain on your tongue long after the thick smoke has drifted away.
